Tour de force

For Gallic glamour, this home is rather hard to beat. The kitchen has a country feel, with daylight playing across its wooden floor and white worktops. You’ve a dining table for four, as well as some jazzy barstools, jaunty lampshades and a colourful couch over in the playroom. After dinner, sip a digestif in the garden, or slip downstairs to the sitting room. Here, French antiques, a fireplace and slouchy sofa make a chic (and cosy) combination. You’ve also an office of artwork and photographs, as well as a quaint double bedroom and stylish ensuite.

You can see a show at the Clapham Grand, or shop on Lavender Hill, one of those many corners of the capital immortalised by film. Turn the other way for Northcote Road market or pop across the river to the cafes and fancy boutiques of Fulham. You can be in Oxford Circus in just over twenty minutes from Clapham Junction.
