Description

It’s unusual to see a successful and tasteful fusion of ultra-contemporary and vintage Victorian décor in one place. Brondesbury Road, a multi-level, five-bedroom London home, manages to pull that combination off with real flair. Heritage features sit comfortably alongside sleek spotlights, bespoke furniture, and a host of unique embellishments that complement rather than compete with one another.

Nestled between Notting Hill and West Hampstead, Queen’s Park is a leafy residential part of the capital that’s quietly become one of the trendier neighbourhoods of West London. You’ll find a farmer’s market every Sunday at Salusbury Primary School playground, artisan bakeries, bistros and delis galore, as well as some beautiful open spaces. Catch an arthouse movie at the wonderfully atmospheric Lexi Cinema on Chamberlayne Road, or book a table at some of Queen’s Park’s fine restaurants.

There’s so much to see in this charming home, from tastefully selected French antiques to hand-carved beds, a touch of shabby-chic here, a splash of black slate or a glimmer of gilding there. The open-plan living space is inviting and relaxed, populated with bespoke furniture and artwork that give this space a real gallery feel. The mezzanine is home to a secluded office with a garden view for inspiration. The kitchen is high-end sleekness personified, with black marble countertops and a breakfast bar. A snuggly second sitting room occupies the entrance level, giving everyone their own special nook to unwind in the evenings.

The five bedrooms are sublime and can host up to ten guests. They’re soothingly decorated in soft colours with homely touches to make them even more cosy. The primary suite has an indulgent super-king-size bed, while the remaining four bedrooms offer up a king, two doubles and a single bed respectively, making sleeping arrangements flexible for larger families or groups.

Outside, you have that must-have for any family home, a gorgeous garden. The main sitting area opens up onto a patio, leading onto a family-friendly garden with a shady bench and lush green lawn. Brondesbury Road is a stylish home within easy reach of the city centre by tube, bus or taxi – the ideal base if you want to experience London like a local.
